ethical fashion & sustainable fashion
Sustainable fashion generally means the environmental ramifications of an item’s sourcing, production, and distribution. For a piece of clothing to be truly sustainable, every element of the supply chain needs to have as minimal damage as possible.
Ethical fashion normally focuses on the human impact of a piece of clothing. Much like with sustainable fashion, every step of the supply chain needs to be considered here, whether that’s the farmer growing the raw material, the garment worker in the factory or the sales assistant on the shop floor. Every person that is involved in the process should be treated fairly and paid correctly.
A fashion industry that is healthy and long-lasting for both people and the planet needs to be both sustainable and ethical. The two can’t exist without one another, and the success of this symbiotic relationship is crucial to that of the future of the planet and its inhabitants. After all, global warming, human rights, and animal rights are all intrinsically linked.
Amie wants to create a positive industry for the planet and people. This is why we are being transparent with our processes from start to finish, Both conscious & responsible practices are what we stand for at Amie Lou London.

Our Factory
All our pieces are handcrafted in the heart of London who offer low quantities of each piece, with minimal wastage. We make toiletry bags and scrunchies with our leftover material.
one of the most important factors for me were that my swimwear was made local to me and not overseas, which is why they are made in the heart of London who offer low quantities of each piece, with minimal wastage.
Not only this, but I’m also supporting my own economy. I’m able to visit as often as I like. Our unit is audited, and our seamstress is paid above the minimum wage. Being ethical and sustainable is the most important to me and my brand ethos seeing where my swimwear is made and who is making it.
Did you know we also use all of our leftover materials making toiletry bags and scrunchies, therefore zero wastage. You might have noticed our cute little Mother of Pearl and rustic buckles. Not only do these add a little vintage feel to our pieces.
Everything we stand for at Amie Lou London is transparency and we’d like you to follow the journey with us as we grow.
Our beautiful crochet trim is handmade in London by an independent crocheter. This beautiful design was inspired by handmade pieces of crochet I found in Bali whilst travelling, before launching Amie Lou London. After months of development, we finally perfected the pattern. Our soft to the touch lace trims have been created with function and femininity in mind, placed intricately to flatter your figure and effortlessly stretch with your body!
Our Packaging
Our swimwear isn’t the only thing that's eco-conscious, all of our packaging is too!
From our recycled paper swing tags, stickers & thank you card, through to our biodegradable mailer bags, we’ve thought about it all, and we are still working on shipping our swimwear with eco-friendly options such as green energy couriers.
Plus, your Amie Lou order will come with our complimentary ECONYL® swimwear bag and is delivered to you in our stunning presentation box, which can be recycled, but it’s also perfect for re-using. Why not keep your new favourite swimwear number stored away in here? Or, use it as a new home for your poolside accessories…
